Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy- Phylogeny

Sophie Really enjoyed Anatomy class with Ms. Rade as a whole, but she really found interest in the second semester when the class focused on various animal anatomy and evolution. The above assignment is a phylogeny she made of animals selected at the Natural History Museum. This phylogeny shows her interest in the subject and her understanding of the subject matter in the class.

Author Study Essay

Author Study turned out to be a very enjoyable class for Sophie. Her group focused on the works of Tennessee Williams. They read Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Glass Menagerie. After reading the first two plays, the group members wrote essays citing a common theme and literary technique in the plays. After reading the third, they revised their essays to include it. Sophie enjoyed the class because it included a lot of background research on the authors. This allowed for a different understanding of the plays, and one she had not had when she had previously read A Streetcar Named Desire. She also learned a lot from reading multiple works of an author back-to-back.

Detroit Auto Decline Video

In American Capitalism, Sophie had the opportunity to make an independent video about an economic turning point in American history. She chose to focus on the Auto Industry of Detroit. She enjoyed this project because he was able to chose a topic of interest and learn independently about it.
