Internship Research Project

This was an essay for the Internship class at FMHS. Sophie completed an internship and created this essay for  credit in the class. This was one of the most frustrating projects Sophie ever completed at FMHS because she felt so strongly about the topic, and wanted to make sure the essay really portrayed her thoughts on the topic. After a lot of research and rewrites, she finally completed the essay. She is very proud of what it turned out to be.

Imperialism Thematic Essay

This was an essay that Sophie wrote over February break for U.S. History class on United States imperialism. It was preparation for the US regents. Sophie felt rushed writing the paper and wasn't sure what details were necessary ad what details weren't. She researched all of the topics she focused on, while on the actual test you need to write the essay based on prior knowledge, so it wasn't the greatest practice for the test, nor was it the greatest example of Sophie's work.

Foreign Policy Thematic Essay

This is an essay of a similar purpose that was written three months later over Spring Break. While writing this essay, Sophie felt much more confident in her work, and that the topics she used proved her thesis. You can see the improvement from the imperialism essay to this in the way that Sophie used research to prove her point. Sophie felt much more confident about the regents after writing this essay.

Reflection

Over the year, Sophie has improved greatly in the way that she handles work and stress. This year in comparison to the last two years, Sophie has felt more in control of her life, and was able to balance her work with having fun. She is satisfied with how the year has turned out and excited for the summer. She is anxious to see what the next year will bring.
